One of the most commonly overlooked aquatic plants when it comes to planted tanks and home aquasystems. This is a unique carnivorous plant that is frequently mistaken for a bladderwort, as it closely resembles members of the Utricularia genus, but is more related to the Dionaea muscipula and Drosera species. Scientifically it belongs to the Aldrovanda genus.
This plant is mostly found distributed in tropics along the African, Asian, and Australian regions. This can thrive in shallow warm water that is slightly under acidic conditions, similar bodies of water that serve home to a widespread variety of rice and reeds.
Relies on heavy CO2 planted tanks as it finds extreme difficulty thriving in algae prone aquascapes.
