The Ammannia senegalensis, also known as copper leaf ammania, have downward curved leave with flowers that inconspicuously grow from the leaf axils of the plants. In growing this plant, and stars of broad and green in color, and as it matures, it begins to narrow in size and turn red in color-which will become more intense with increased lighting. Survival of this plant demands a rich source of nutrients and intense source of lighting. Many aquarium hobbyists use between 5 to 8 strong specimens in order to fill in the mid-ground area of an aquarium in order to accent the various shades of aquarium plants surrounding it that are green.
