Bolbitis heudelotii is an aquatic fern that works great as an aquarium plant. Bolbitis heudelotii takes a huge variety of conditions from low to excessive light. Bolbitis heudelotii can be used in a lot of locations in the planted aquarium from attaching it to driftwood and rocks, to naked root planting inside the substrate. Bolbitis heudelotii is a local to Africa.

The pinnate, dark green, transparent leaves make this plant a lovely addition to nearly any aquarium layout. Of all of the aquatic ferns cultivated inside the hobby, Bolbitis heudelotii is probably the only that corresponds high-quality with the photo anyone has of a fern. It is most beautiful in the middleground of a tank layout. Together with driftwood and mosses, dense groups of African water fern can evoke the experience of a primeval jungle waterscape.
