Comes from Asia and is very common in Hawaii and in warmer climate regions. This is not an aquatic plant but can develop well in an aquarium where it can reach 4 inches (10 cm) tall. The roots are very large, so it desires a thick substrate to establish.
It is a hardy plant but with low light and a pH between 6.5 and 7.5, it will be healthy. It can be propagated by planting cuttings from the aspect sprouts of the mother plant.
