Most known as the Japanese Rush, the A. gramineus has a long history and relationship with the aquarium community as being unable to survive completely submersed for long periods of time. Other common names of the Acorus gramineus are Japanese sweet flag, dwarf sedge, Grass-leaved sweet flag, and Grassy-leaved sweet flag.
